Who We Are

The Movement, Its Roots & Its Promise

UTM was born from a dream of a new Malawi — one led by integrity, driven by ideas and delivered by the people themselves.

The Founding Legacy

Hon. Saulos Klaus Chilima

The United Transformation Movement was founded by Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima — a visionary who dared Malawians to believe that their future could be different. His life stood for courage, integrity and servant leadership.

After his tragic passing in June 2024, the movement honoured his legacy by renewing its promise: a Malawi where no young person is left behind, where talent is the only passport to opportunity, and where leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege.

“The transformation of Malawi begins the moment each of us decides to lead from where we stand.”
